Painted during my artist residency in Nordingrå, Sweden!

A few elements that made Sweden’s high coast distinct from anywhere else I’ve visited: the rocky landscape, lots of heather and European pines, and viewpoints overlooking different clusters of islands scattered in the sea. This painting was inspired by a viewpoint that had it all, and I like that the pine trees take the main focus, with the larger view peeking out behind them.
